Musica Secreta’s score shop includes many works that we’ve prepared for ourselves and our workshops, and it is growing steadily. Choirs all over the world have already included them in their repertoire and recordings – just listen to these wonderful performances of Leonora d’Este motets from the Monteverdi Choir and Elektra Women’s Choir.
But we want more choirs to enjoy them, and even more, we would love to bring you all together in a polyphonic singing version of a mystery book club, or a mystery craft/knit along. That’s why we have created our new annual Choir Membership Scheme.
Selling scores from our online shop is one of the primary ways we support ourselves as an ensemble, and it’s the most important way we can spread the word about female-voice polyphony – that it’s not only possible but also unique and lovely, and unlike the sound of any mixed-voice music.
We are offering choirs three new scores per year – autumn (third week of September), winter (first week of December), and spring (third week of March) – at a further 20% saving to our normal multiples discount, with free accompaniment scores and audio tracks in equal and meantone temperament, along with exclusive programme note information and performance tips from Laurie. Members will also get a further 5% discount in the store until 31 August 2022.
The pieces will be in either three or four voices and will be between two and four minutes long. They will be works we would choose for our own workshops: never so challenging that they will leave you flummoxed, but with performance points that will add to your polyphonic skills. They will often be seasonal – to fit into Christmas or Easter programmes – and they will always be fabulous. They will be exclusive to the membership for the year, after which we will open them up to general purchase.

Pricing
The prices are based on the size of your ensemble, and they reflect the normal tiered discount that increases with the number of people in your choir. The advertised saving includes £32.35 worth of accompaniment scores and backing tracks.
