On Thursday 16 September, Laurie will be presenting at the WoMuNet (Women and Music Networks in Early Modern Europe) workshop, hosted by the Universidad de Granada.
She will be talking about the links between the Biffoli-Sostegni manuscript and Suor Maria Celeste Galilei, the daughter of Galileo Galilei, and how convent of San Matteo in Arcetri used music as a pillar of their interactions between themselves, among their families, and with their community. The more we know, the more we realise there is to find out.
The music from this source is a major part of our new programme, Mother, Sister, Daughter, which we will be bringing to concert venues in 2022.
