Last year, Musica Secreta got in touch with a number of other early music/vocal ensembles to see if they would be interested in creating an album that could be used to raise awareness and funds for cancer charities. The only criterion for inclusion was that the text should include a reference or references to breasts (female or male).
While this proved impossible, in the end, to make an album (for less-than-interesting legal reasons) Musica Secreta and Papagena went ahead and recorded tracks that could feature in a playlist, alongside existing tracks from other ensembles. As readers of this blog will know, Musica Secreta has been releasing a track per month since October 2023 – free to download but asking listeners to donate instead to breast cancer charities.
Our EP, Corpore et anima (In Body and Soul) is now available on Bandcamp. It is still free to download (on a pay-what-you-wish basis), but mostly if you like the music we want you to donate to one or both of two cancer charities (IMPORTANT: please use the code CEA as part of your donation reference to METUP UK).

There are two (almost identical) playlists, with many wonderful UK-based ensembles, on Spotify and YouTube. We’ll be sharing these more on social media on 4 February 2024.
